Raj Celebration for Christmas – 29 December 2019
India is a vast country with a diverse range of religions and cultures. There are many different festivals and each one is celebrated with incredible flavours surrounded by family and friends.
Festivals were no different during the rule of the British with food always playing an important part. Men and women would have cooked up a feast, and for this masterclass we will be taking you back in time for a culinary celebration of the recipes they once used.
So who are the memsahibs and khansamas?
The English women living in India were known as the memsahibs and the servants, cooks and butlers to the British were known as the khansamas.
